Al Stewart University of Warwick, Coventry, UK 08/11/70

320Kbps

This is a very intimate concert which was given by Al Stewart himself (in cassette format) to the Al Stewart Mailing List in the 1990s.It features a very talkative Al (he's usually very talkative) in front of an intimate audience, with an obviously not-high-tech recording setup, yet it sounds very good anyway. He intros just about every song with a long explanation of what it means (either true of facetious).

Audio Source: BBC 1 radio broadcast 320kbps
Notes: On May 24th 1997, Kraftwerk, legendary German masters of electronica and some of the most influential progenitors of electronic music ever, played a long-awaited live gig at Britain's Tribal Gathering dance music festival, the largest legal dance gathering in the country, composed of a number of huge tents holding up to 10,000 people each in a field at Luton Hoo.

Shamefully, the BBC was supposed to be broadcasting the show live, but instead, edited it down and only broadcast about one hour of the concert.

Bruce Springsteen The Ties That Bind

Unreleased Album From 1979 - Early version of The River as well)
A+ exceptional sound quality 320Kbps
Notes: Before Springsteen released the classic double-LP The River in 1980, he had already scrapped a proposed single-disc version of the album in 1979 titled The Ties That Bind. This is that unreleased album, in stunning sound quality; Most consider it superior sonically to the officially released CD version of The River, and I won't argue. Heck, there's quite a few that think this is an overall better album, and while I wouldn't go that far, it IS a great album. Much more pop-influenced than what was released, which is probably why Bruce shelved it.
1- The Ties That Bind (some lyric variations from the released version)
2- Cindy (unreleased song)
3- Hungry Heart (minor, if any, variations)
4- Stolen Car (wildly different from the released version)
5- To Be True (early version of Be True, which was released as a B-Side
in 1980)
6- The River (different mix, no background vocals)
7- You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch) (very different, rockabilly version rather than the released garage rock version)
8- The Price You Pay (extra verse)
9- I Wanna Marry You (minor variations)
10- Loose Ends (unreleased song)

Apparently it's the whole show -- maybe it was part of a package tour -- because the announcer comes on at the beginning and the end. I've included some artwork I made.I found a Sam and Dave discography athttp://www.melingo.com/thesoulnet/samndave.htm indicating no live-recording official releases, which is a shame. Hope you '60s soul fans will enjoy this.

15. Dying On The Vine
16. Fear Is A Man's Best Friend
17. I'm Waiting For The Man
18. Streets Of Laredo
19. Close Watch
Artwork included: note that the date on the artwork is wrong and the track listing too short. 21 files instead of 19 because track 1 is the intro and track 3 is the short beginning of "Leaving up to you" and there are only 16 tracks on the artwork. It's all too confusing but a great show nonetheless.
